I favor this deck over her first card introductions, "Healing with the Angels" and "Messages From Your Angels." The art of this card set is even more vibrant and lovely than earlier presentations by this author. In this set of 45 archangel cards, 15 archangels are presented, each of the angels having 3 cards with a different message or inspiration attached.
The cards are approximately 3-1/2" by 5" and are created on a sturdy cardstock with a glossy coating on both front and back. The front of each card features a keyword, the name of the archangel that it refers to, and a brief theme message for the card. The back of the cards feature a lovely framed angel who stands on top of a golden mounting, holding a glowing torch in one hand and a lattice sphere in the other. Behind the angel is a rainbow in a sky of blue and violet shades. The cards and guidebook are attractively packaged in a sturdy box, which is typical for Doreen Virtue's card sets.
A 79-page guidebook accompanies the 44 card set. It further elaborates the meanings of each archangel card and includes a brief section on how to work with that particular archangel energy. The booklet explains various ways that one can work with the Archangel Oracle Cards. The cards are a wonderful source of inspiration and can be used for meditation purposes or to find general or specific guidance about the concerns in life. As with most oracles, the angels will tell you what you need to hear at the time you are asking. In most cases, I have found that these cards do well for addressing a specific concern, but be aware that there will be times when the angels will ask you to focus on something else that may need your attention most at a particular time. For example, if you are asking about matters of the heart, it is possible that the angels might ask you to focus on a career issue instead. From my years of working with clients (using various types of oracles, including Tarot), I have found that some people need to sort out their job and career issues before they will truly be settled to engage in a love interest. This is one example why the angels may tell us to focus in a different area -- because another area may need to be resolved before you can effectively work with the area that is currently on your mind.
