Oracle Deck - 80 Cards - Published by Lo Scarabeo
The Angel Voices deck is comprised of 80 cards, each depicting an angel image. Each angel is associated with a planet, whose symbol is also shown on the card. The cards are simply done, yet are attractive. They were designed with 72 guardian angels cards, 7 archangel cards, and 1 celestial palace card to make up the whole. The 72 guardian angel cards are subdivided into nine formations of eight cards each which are differentiated according to the type of sky featured in the card, along with the corresponding planet as follows:
- Seraphs - Neptune - Cloudy sky
- Cherubs - Uranus - Sky with lightning
- Thrones - Saturn - Dark rainy sky
- Dominions - Jupiter - Blue starry sky
- Powers - Mars - Red sky at sunset
- Principalities - Sun - Blue sky with sun
- Virtues - Venus - Red sky at dawn
- Archangels - Mercury - Changeable sky
- Angels - Moon - Night sky and moon
The illustrator of this deck (Antonella Castelli) also illustrated the Tarot Art Nouveau and the Spirit of Flowers Tarot decks. The 190-page book which goes with this deck is a valuable resource for using this set of cards. The book also explains the colors and functions of the angels for each formation. For example, the Angels of Uranus are clothed in violet colored garments, and they work on surprises, unexpected events, strokes of genius and changes. Their role is to transform.Seven archangels are presented in this set -- Michael, Gabriel, Raphael, Anael, Ariel, Zachariel and Cassiel. One card is untitled and represents "the great celestial palace with all its floors."
The book includes information about using the cards in free or guided interpretations. Free interpretations are naturally recommended for those who are familiar with angels and astrology. Guided interpretations for two specific layouts are included to offer a one-sentence message for each card position. A 7-card general layout is included with guided interpretations, and a 3-card guided layout is included to address a specific question that one has. An interesting and useful element of this set of cards is that each card gives a time period of a 5-day range in terms of the month and actual days that correspond with the given angel. This time frame represents a 5 degree portion of the astrological year. This can help to find timing factors in a reading or to see a particular point in time that may be especially relevant.

For each angel card, the book provides a keyword, areas concerned, divinatory significance, and a relevant time period, including the days of the week ruled by the card's planets. Following this information are the guided interpretations. You will learn about both the positive meanings as well as the negative or shadow sides of a situation. So this is definitely not a fluffy deck that will guarantee you all sweet things you want to hear -- you will hear what you need to hear whether favorable or unfavorable, and then of course, it's up to you to enhance or maintain the desirable forces and to minimize the undesirable ones according to what is within your capacity and control to do.
Unfortunately, the cards and the book both seem to be out of print at the time of this posting. So this may be a deck and book that will be hard to locate -- or possibly costly if you do find one.
