This is a set of angel cards done in soft pastel shades. The art is not extravagant, but it is still attractive nevertheless. I had been looking for a new angel deck when I found this one -- but much to my dismay, it was out of print! Thus, if you are looking for a set of Angel Journey cards, you may want to try Ebay or Amazon Associates to see if someone is selling a used copy -- or if you happen to discover a lucky find in a new copy.

The Angel Journey set comes in a lovely box that displays one of Williams' angels. The accompanying book of 209 pages matches the box cover. What a lovely and angelic invitation to open the book and explore it's special contents. Inside the book, the authors introduce the cards and provide information and meanings for each one. The card set is divided into three categories, for a total of 55 cards:

1) Angel of the Season (4 cards)
2) Symbol Cards (24 cards)
3) Journey Cards (27 cards)

The Season cards -- Spring, Autumn, Winter, and Summer -- are self-explanatory, as well as the Symbol cards of the deck, some of which are tree, rainbow, lion, dove, and clouds. . . in addition to items associated with angels, such as harp and wings. Brief descriptions are given for these cards in the book. The major focus is on the Journey cards which includes three sections within the category:

1) Soul Journey -- relates to our divine purpose
2) Spirit Journey -- connects us to our creative energy and divine inspiration to assist us in that divine purpose
3) Nature Journey -- draws in our physical connection to the divine.

The authors describe this work as an oracle and discuss this purpose in the book. They define an oracle as asking for direction and guidance rather than a means of divining the future. In their words . . . "If we expect the oracle to tell us whether or not to do something, we are, in essence, giving our power over to it. But when we ask for direction, we are prepared to do the work."

When I learned this deck was written by Terry Lynn Taylor & Mary Beth Crain, it was yet another reason I just had to have it. These authors also wrote the books "Angel Wisdom" and "Angel Courage" which I have very much enjoyed through the years.
